Meet Nyssa

Nyssa is currently not accepting any new clients*

Nyssa’s priority is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and respected. She believes that healing and growth are most effective when individuals feel comfortable to explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace, without fear of criticism or pressure. To support this, Nyssa uses a holistic, integrated approach that is thoughtfully tailored to each person’s unique needs, strengths, and life experiences. By combining evidence-informed therapeutic methods with curiosity, compassion, and flexibility, she collaborates with clients to build deeper self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful connection in their lives.

Registered Psychotherapist, MCAP, BHSc, RP(Q)

Nyssa supports individuals who feel disconnected, from themselves, their relationships, or the world around them. Whether this sense of disconnection stems from trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, or major life transitions, she offers a holistic and integrative approach to therapy that is carefully tailored to each client’s needs. Her work blends evidence-based talk therapies with specialized training in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Forest Therapy, and Direct Neurofeedback.

Creating a space that feels safe, grounded, and non-judgmental is central to Nyssa’s practice. She helps clients build awareness of their inner experiences, better understand how past and present stressors impact their wellbeing, and reconnect with a sense of balance and meaning. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, compassion, and respect for each individual’s pace and healing process.

Nyssa holds an Honours Bachelor of Health Science with a specialization in Health Promotion and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. In addition to her clinical training, she brings nine years of experience as a professional firefighter, giving her a deep understanding of how occupational stress, trauma, and high-responsibility roles can affect both mental and physical health.

Nyssa works with clients facing trauma, chronic pain, work-related stress, emotional overwhelm, and challenges related to life experiences or personal growth. She offers therapy in-office, virtually, and outdoors through forest-based sessions, supporting clients as they move toward greater clarity, resilience, and meaningful change.
